Started by the Energy Institute in 1997, the Northsound 1 Energy Schools Challenge invites 16 secondary schools across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to participate in an eight-round, quiz-style challenge. The challenge tests their knowledge of the energy industry, as well as sport, history, music, movies and general knowledge.
Various energy organisations across the city host each heat at their premises which gives pupils the opportunity to experience a business environment and engage with industry representatives.
Sponsors support the competition to promote the many career opportunities the energy sector has to offer young people right across the spectrum - whether in oil and gas, renewable or alternative energies, even into decommissioning.
Hampton was proud to be one of the sponsors of this exciting local event, as well as coordinating and facilitating the competition.
Congratulations to this years’ champions were Robert Gordon’s College. All in all the competition was a huge success and we can’t wait to be involved again next year!
