On Friday July 17, the team at Hampton is taking on a 24-hour Runathon in aid of Charlie House. From 5pm on Friday to 5pm on Saturday all 22 staff members will be taking it in turns to run or walk as far as they can for 24 hours. Let’s find out how some of the team have been training.

Ewan Lyle - Digital Studio Manager

Ewan Lyle - Digital Studio Manager

Our Digital Studio Manager, Ewan says that training is a constant battle between running and lockdown snacks. He’s going for big miles during his two-hour time slot which starts at 1am. Ewan is hoping to cover 14 miles and is confident he can achieve that. He’s run Ultras so this should be easy? Right?!

Pete McIntosh - Account Manager

Pete McIntosh - Account Manager

Account Manager, Pete has run a few marathons in the past but struggles to get out as much these days since becoming a dad in March. Pete has been running as much as he can around Banchory, when he’s not changing nappies that is. He’s aiming to run 14 miles, as long as the wind is blowing in the right direction…

Carol Mennie - Office Manager

Carol Mennie - Office Manager

Carol, our Office Manager, loves to get out and about in the great outdoors and can often be found walking along the Deeside Way. She’s a keen gardener and a big fan of the British Bake Off. Let’s hope there won’t be any soggy bottoms during this Runathon… Carol is hoping to walk six miles during her two-hour time slot.

Julie Owens - Designer

Julie Owens - Designer

Julie is one of Hampton’s designers! She’s been popping in her headphones and plodding (can you plod to pumping tunes?!?) away to some pumping tunes. She’s married to a personal trainer so this just might give her the edge. Julie is aiming for nine miles over her time slot of two hours.

Scott Hunter - Creative Director

Scott Hunter - Creative Director

Scott can be seen pounding the streets of Aberdeen’s West End. He takes his inspiration from the classic Nike, 1980’s ‘Just Do It’ campaign as it captures his dedication and passion for running. Doesn’t the headband just complete that 80’s vibe. But can Scott reach nine miles during two hours??

Agnes Fu - Account Manager

Agnes Fu - Account Manager

Our Account Manager, Agnes is taking on an early slot. Starting at 4am, she’ll be trekking up Bennachie and back down (hopefully!)! She has been getting up early every day for walks in training for this event. Agnes will undoubtedly hit six miles and will probably get the best photos too!

Georgie Hay - Account Manager

Georgina Hay - Account Manager

Georgie is loving training for the Runathon, as it means she can get out and about in the woods and check out a whole bunch of new places. Georgie is another one of Hampton’s Account Managers and she is super organised. Her training schedule is on a very pretty excel sheet. Can Georgie reach four miles during her turn?

Jo Dodd - UX Engineer

Jo Dodd - UX Engineer

Jo, our UX Engineer takes her training very seriously! She’s no fair-weather walker, that’s for sure. You can often find Jo splashing in and out of puddles through the streets of London. She’s taking on two hours and is aiming for nine miles.

Kelsey Barbour - Account Manager

Kelsey Barbour - Account Manager

Account Manager, Kelsey is hoping that the more energy gels she eats, the more likely she is to turn into a professional athlete (that’s how it works, right?) Listening to 90’s dance tunes is also keeping her motivated to keep clocking up the miles. In one hour, Kelsey is going to smash out six miles. Easy!

Kara Adamson - Senior Account Executive

Kara Adamson - Senior Account Executive

Our Senior Account Exec, Kara (also known as Klux) has been following a very strict training regime. Kara and her best friend Ollie (he’s a dog) have been out in the woods walking and sometimes running for miles at a time… These outings often take much longer than they should due to Ollie’s curiosity and constant snoofing (is that a word?) around. Klux is aiming for 3.5 miles in one hour.

Susan Montgomery - Senior Designer

Susan Montgomery - Senior Designer

Our Senior Designer, Susan, AKA Monty has all the gear but no idea… In fact, so much so that she’s been playing tennis on the lead up to her running challenge. At least we know she’s quick on her feet and let’s hope she will ‘ace’ it on the day. Monty is aiming for six miles.

As you can see Team Hampton is taking this very seriously and are putting in a lot of effort. We’d love it if you can help us reach our fundraising target of £1,500 for the Charlie House 24 Hours Runathon. If you’d like to donate, please do so here
