Hello, my name is Simon, I am a creative. Creative in the broadest sense of the word - having worked in design, branding and advertising. I love ideas and their power to transform brands, businesses, and in turn, the bottom line. Because creative work doesn’t work unless it is effective.

I’ve been delivering strong ideas for 30 years. It’s been a long and rewarding journey. To cut a long journey short, for the last 8 years I have been Creative Director at BrewDog (don’t stop reading). Steering them from aggressive adolescents into the mainstream, and tipping the balance more to love than hate by adding a sense of humour to their creative output. Creating some of their seminal campaigns. A new brand world, all hero photography and videos, naming all beers and engineering a tone of voice that will take them well into the twenty-first century.

Previously I worked with some of the world’s most recognised brands. From Reuters to Barclays. New Balance to Lego. The R&A to British American Tobacco, and everything in-between. I’ve won creative awards along the way, including a D&AD but I’m most proud of my DBA Design Effectiveness awards.

Fast forward to now. I’ve recently joined the infectiously enthusiastic team at Hampton, taking on the role of Creative Director. Swapping beer coupons for agency life. Helping deliver ideas that won’t just help your brand survive, they will ensure it thrives. Thinking that works. Ideas that deliver. Effectively.
