 # Positioning the transition

# Energy Transition Zone (ETZ)

Aberdeen is at a turning point, shifting from the Oil Capital of Europe to a leader in net-zero energy. Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) was created to drive that transformation - not just by promoting development, but by making a complex, long-term shift feel credible and real.

ETZ positions the north-east as a world-leading hub for low-carbon energy, innovation and manufacturing. At its heart is EnergyWorks, a flagship incubator and scale-up facility for next-generation energy companies. Hampton's role was to simplify a complex proposition into a clear, compelling story - a brand and experience that works from local engagement to global investment.

We built a confident identity and narrative that positions EnergyWorks as a serious global proposition, not a regional initiative: a purpose-built energy innovation hub and flagship destination. The name works on two levels; it's both a place where energy technologies are developed, and a workshop where projects are taken to the next level. From messaging to wayfinding to the built environment, every touchpoint was designed to create a practical and inspiring experience for the people who use the space.

This purpose-built scale-up hub is the UK's first dedicated low carbon energy incubator. A place where innovation and expertise thrive. Delivering a unique space and experience, both visually and functionally.

Recognising the importance of local trust, we also developed a visual identity for Community & Coast and its six pillars, serving the communities surrounding ETZ. This ensures the transition is not only understood by industry and investors, but is also visible and relevant to the people closest to it.

The result is a unified brand and experience that turns ambition into something tangible, part of transforming perceptions and accelerating change in the city we call home. The journey continues.
